So tomorrow is March 1st but we are pretending it's January 1st. Tomorrow Jay and I are starting our healthy eating & exercise programs. Jay will be doing P9.0X with a high protein, low fat and low carb diet and I am doing Wei.ght Watc.hers. I will not be attending meetings (no time for them) but I will be acting as if I am. I did WW after I had Savannah so I know the drill. I found the old points system very easy and I loved it so that's what I will be doing. At 3 months postpartum with Savannah I weighed exactly the same as I do now at 7 weeks pp, 144lbs. My goal is 125 (I am 5' 7"). We are going to eat fresh fruit & veggies, whole grains, local free range meat & milk and as much organic as possible. It is going to be so much easier now that Jay is on board with this. I try to buy organic as much as possible but it is so dang expensive Jay has been resistant since we are a single income family. I finally got him to understand that if we are eating less food we can definitely afford for it to be of better quality.
So the second piece to this is exercise. I absolutely LOVE to exercise but exercise = time. Time is something I just don't have these days (hence my absence ob Blog.ger lately). I decided that I am going to set an exercise goal of 3x weekly for myself. Jay and I have agreed that we will each fit in 1 hour of exercise each day on the weekends. I "should" be able to exercise 1x during the week. I have a treadmill (that I have an unhealthy love for) and I will be getting a recumbent cycle as soon as we can get to the store. I updated my IP.OD yesterday so I am good to go! I am soooooooo excited!!!

Happy 4th Birthday to my Baby Girl!
It seems like only yesterday Savannah was born and tomorrow is her 4th Birthday! We have big big plans! Jay has taken the day off of work (he does this every year) and the 4 of us have lunch reservations at the Am.eri.can Gi.rl Bis.tro. It should be a lot of fun. We are giving her a gift card as one of her gifts so she will be able to pick something at the store. She plans on bringing all 3 of her babies (Bitty & the Twins, named Kiki & Shout). We will be having our parents and Joel & Kate (Jay's brother and his GF-Savannah's Godparents) over Friday night for a small party. We are having Savannah's family & friends party on Sunday afternoon. She is so excited for her birthday weekend!

Sleep update
Yesterday Shane slept from 11:30am until 3:30pm. Way to go baby boy! When he went to bed last night he slept for 2-4 hour sessions! Whatever his problem was a few days ago seems to have gone (knock on wood). His last feeding was at 5 this morning and he is still sleeping now at 7:15. He was such a happy boy during his awake time yesterday. He is so close to smiling. He cracks these cute little smirks. It just melts my heart!
I want to thank you guys for your words of encouragement and advice. I really appreciate it!

Better
I am happy to report that last night went much better for us. Shane slept last night from 7pm until about 7:30pm. At 9:30pm Jay brought him for a car ride to help him fall asleep. I guess he cried for about 10 minutes but then fell asleep (they were gone for a half hour). As soon as they returned home he woke up crying. I nursed him and he fell back asleep at about 11pm. I snuck him back to his bed and he (Jay and I too) slept until 2:30am!!! When I ever saw the time of the clock when he woke up I was sooooo happy! I nursed him and he fell back asleep again at 3:45am (he fell asleep while nursing but I rocked him for a while to make sure he was good and sleeping). He then slept until 6am. I nursed him again and he has been sleeping since 6:40ish-it's now 7:05am. Hopefully we are on the road to recovery. I wish I could drink unlimited amounts of coffee!
The only thing we did different last night was we ave him 3 quarter doses (1/4 teaspoon-20 minutes apart) of Gripe Water. About 10ish minutes after giving him the water he burped and/or pooped. Hopefully it was helping him. I am not a fan of medications but I do feel better that this is supposedly a natural remedy and the main ingredients are made from organic ingredients. I think Gripe Water and gas drops are pretty much the same thing. This water got really good review online which is why we chose it. Hopefully today I will be able to shower ;-)

Not much time for Bloggin'
My poor boy has been super uncomfortable these past few days. He seems to have a gas issue (my guess is that it's hereditary). He has always been a pooper and a burper but it seems he has been having belly trouble. He hasn't been sleeping well and wants to nurse 24/7. He will fall asleep while nursing but wake 15-20 minutes after I put him back to bed. This just goes on over and over and over. We were up all night last night from 11pm-5am. He was just as uncomfortable today. We had given him a half dose of Gripe Water over the weekend but he vomited it up. Thankfully he rarely spits up or I would really be freaking out that he had some type of digestive issue going on. I gave up primary dairy and chocolate for a few days but that didn't help him. I will stay off chocolate but I live for cheese.
Today he has been not himself. He slept most of the morning but woke every 15-20 minutes crying. He was able to sleep this afternoon for almost an hour and a half so that was wonderful. I haven't done ANYTHING today except finish up the Thank You Cards(finally!!!). Thank goodness for those meals I made up a froze a few month ago. I gave him a 1/4 dose of Gripe Water tonight then I gave him another 1/4 dose a half hour later. Thankfully he was able to keep both doses down. I just nursed him and he fell alseep and he is now in bed. I pray pray pray that he is able to sleep and then go back to sleep after his next feeding. I will try to catch up on blogs and everything else when I can.

1 Month Old
My dearest Shane-
I cannot believe that today you are one month old! It seems like you just made your appearance a few days ago but at the same time it feels like you have been in our family forever. It is hard to think how things would be without you. We all just adore you so very much! You have brought more joy into our home than we ever could have imagined.
You are such a snugglie little love! I wish I have an unlimited amount of time to just love up on you. Unfortunately, I don't. I am beyond busy during the day but I have found an awesome new way to cuddle with you. It's called...The Mo.by Wra.p. You and I absolutely love it. Dave, Audra & Jenson (our neighbors) gave it to us as a new baby gift a few weeks ago. I have to admit I was a little afraid of it at first. I had heard that there is quite the learning curve to putting it on. We finally tried it out the past Saturday. We have used it about 5-6 times in the past three days and you have fallen asleep with 5 minutes every single time! I think it makes you feel like you are back in the belly.
Feed: See above. When you eat you make the cutest nosies! You moan and groan with contentment. I think this is absolutely adorable. Sometimes you nurse just because you want to snuggle and be soothed. Not that you really ever get upset-because you don't.
Weight: 1-13: 8lbs 5 oz.
1-16: 8lbs 0.04oz.
1-19: 8lbs. 4oz.
Check-ups: You have your 1 month check up with Dr. Jamie this Thursday. I will be sure to update with your stats.

Sleep: You wake around 8am and stay away until about 11am. You will sleep until about 6pm waking every 3ish hours to eat. You will wake again at 6ish and stay awake until 9ish. During the night you wake every 2-3ish hours for a diaper change and to eat. You always fall back to sleep while eating. You have been having some gas trouble at night. You usually burp before going back into your pack n' play but within a few minutes of laying down you are moaning and groaning from what we think are gas pains. Daddy will lift you from lying to a sitting position and you normally burp and go right back to sleep. At your appointment on Thursday I am going to ask Dr. Jamie if she thinks we should give you gas drops. You often end up with hiccups after eating as well.

Milestone: You are gaining more and more strength in your neck. You will be holding your head up on your own all of the time very soon. You do pretty well but are a little wobbly still at times.
Firsts: We went to dinner at Grammy & Grampy's house last night for your first time. Like usual, we picked up Old Mem on the way and she joined us. We had homemade pizza for dinner.
*Last week we went to dinner at Mem & Pep's house for your first time. We had baked haddock & veggies.
*This past Thursday while sissy was at school you and I had our first shopping trip together. We went to Ol.d Na.vy to get you a pair of jeans and some socks. You slept in your car seat until you woke up hungry (I fed you in the car).
*This past Saturday you and I went to do some more shopping together. This time when you woke hungry I fed you in the dressing room at Ko.hl's.

Mommy: Mommy is doing well. I have decided not to weigh myself until I go for my check up in two weeks. Daddy & I are going to eat better and start exercising regularly again on 3/1. Right now we are both enjoying eating what we want (with in reason).
Other stuff: Your Newborn pictures came in this week and we hung your frame in your room. I absolutely L-O-V-E it! My beautiful baby boy!
*Last weekend was the Super Bowl and our team, The Patriots, lost. This was a HUGE disappointment. We watched the game at home and had a fun little party.
*You still aren't a huge fan of your swing or bouncy seat. Hopefully things change.
*You have a bad case of baby acne (since about 10 days old). It breaks me heart to see your beautiful face and chest all broken out. Hopefully it will clear up soon.
*Sissy stared with a head cold yesterday. Hopefully she doesn't share her germs with you (or anyone else).
*Your bank account was opened this week thanks to a donation from Memere Jean & Pepere Norm.
*We have plans to bring you (and Sissy) out to dinner for your first time tomorrow in celebration of Valentine's Day. Grammy & Grampy offered to babysit butI am not ready to leave my boy we haven't given you a bottle yet.
*You only like the papi when you are in the mood for it. If you are sucking on it and it falls out you freak.
*I got you your first par of "big boy" shoes from Str.ide Ri.te on Saturday during our shopping trip together. Size 2 pre-walkers. I am so excited for you to wear them in a few months.

My questions to answer:
- If you could go anywhere for a week, where would you go? Disney World with my family. I have only been 1x and it was only for two days when I was 25. We went to all of the parks but everything was rushed. We are hoping to bring the kids next winter!
- What is your favorite app on your smart phone? If you don't have a smart phone, what the hell is wrong with you? ;) I am sorry to say I am a looser and don't have a Smart Phone. My husband has one and I would have to say my favorite app was/is the contraction counter. It was awesome when we needed to time my contractions.
- If you were going to redo one room in your house which room would it be and why? We just built our house two years ago so I still like everything so far. If I could gut and redo a room (and not have a budget) I would choose our mater bathroom. I really wanted a HUGE tile shower but it wasn't in our budget.
- What is your biggest insecurity? Do I have to pick just one ;-) I am very self conscious of my butt/hips. I am not sure how I am going to find the time but I am going to start exercising again in March.
- What are the top three Internet sites you visit? (saw this on another one and thought it was a great question!) Fa.ce.bo.ok, Bl.og.ger & Pin.ter.est My top 3 shopping sites are Am.az.on, Di.ap.ers.com & O.ld Na.vy/G.ap
- Do you have a hobby? What is it? I do have a hobby and it's called online shopping. Haha! It's awful and I really should check myself into rehab!
- If your husband could buy you anything what would you want from him? Last year I found the most beautiful white gold diamond and sapphire ring that I want so badly. One problem: it's crazy expensive. A girl can dream, right?
- When is the last time you drastically changed your hairstyle? I am not a big fan of drastic change. And let's be honest, who really has time for hair? I am lucky if I get 4 hair cuts a year. Speaking of hair, I am overdue for a cut.
- What was the last vacation you went on? Tell us about it. Our last vacation was this past July when we went on our annual beach vacation to Maine with my in-law's. It is always a fun time! We stay in a condo on the beach and eat a ton of
badyummy food! - When was the last time you cried and why? The week Shane was born I did a lot of crying! The obvious reason (overcome with joy on the birth of my son) & frustration. Savannah decided right after I returned from the hospital that she wanted to protest going to bed. I was tired, sore and frustrated with her. Thanks to the tough love approach hubby was able to get her to go to bed. It only took 4 days of her screaming bloody murder.
- How do you stay organized? I am a super organized person. I have to be or else I feel like I will have a mental breakdown. I try and always keep up with the house work and my daily responsibilities because it's bad bad news if I feel overwhelmed.
Here are my questions for you!
- What was the last thing you did before Blogger?
- If you were to win 50 million dollers, what would you do with it?
- If you had to choose one thing to eat and one thing to drink for the rest of your life what would they be?
- What is your favorite color?
- What are the top three Internet sites you visit? (saw this on another one and thought it was a great question!)
- When was the last time you went out to dinner? Where did you go and who were you with?
- If you could go back in time and change something, would you? Explain.
- When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
- What was the last movie you saw?
- What is your favorite thing about the place you live.
- Do you have any pets? If so, share a little something about them.
Here are the blogs I am tagging...HAVE FUN!
