Advice Needed

So my brother in law and his girlfriend broke up about a month ago.  He immediately (within days) started seeing this girl who he was "friends" with for a few month prior to the break up.  My husband and I did a little Face.book creeping and we don't like what we see in these girls pictures.  I tried to explain what exactly we didn't like about these pictures but I couldn't explain in a way that didn't sound absolutely horrible.  The pictures were BAD!  So we will just say that these pictures lead us to believe that this girl may not be the best choice to bring around the family.  Never the less, he sometimes is at my in law's house with girl (sorry, I just can't refer to her as a lady).  Savannah often goes to play at my in law's house.  I don't like the idea of Savannah being around this girl.  Is it wrong of me to not want her around someone who from their Face.book pictures doesn't look as though she has the best morals??  Is it wrong that I am having a little trouble with him bringing a new girlfriend around my 4 year old daughter  5 days after his girlfriend of 6 years broke up with him??

Please leave me a comment with your honest opinions!  If you think I am bat shit crazy, please tell me.  I can take it.

I think my in law's think I am crazy because I haven't let Savannah meet this girl.  Hubbs thinks that there isn't a problem because this girl isn't left alone with Savannah.  He thinks it isn't a "big deal" that his brother is seeing someone so soon because it's not like he is Savannah's parent.

I don't like the example this is setting.  Or maybe I am being too over protective of my little girl.  HELP!

Oh no he didn't!

Yes, that would be my precious baby boy in a standing position.  Not only is it a standing position (that he put himself into for the first time just yesterday) but this very picture was the 5/6th time he stood up (by himself let me remind you) on his first day of learning this new trick.  Say it ain't so!  {hyperventilating}  Time to lower the crib.

Why do I get a strong wave of severe nausea every.single.time he reaches a milestone?

Operation "Convince husband we need another baby" is in full swing.

This is something I NEVER thought I would want.  It was decided very very long ago that we were going to be a 4 person family.

This little love of a baby has made me want more.

If I can get Jay to agree it will be nothing short of a miracle.  I want 2 1 more and I want it soon.

Vacation 2012-Lancaster, PA

This year we went on 3 short family vacations.  We went to Lanc.aster, PA with my friend from high school and her family, Old Orch.ard Bea.ch Mai.ne with Jay's parents & The Wh.ite Moun.tains in New Hamp.shire.  We had big plans to go to Dis.ney rather than NH but after our trip to PA we knew that probably wasn't the best idea just yet.  You need so much stuff (car seats, strollers, diaper bags, toys, luggage and more!) when you travel with little ones that I just don't know how 2 adults could travel with 2 young children.

Lanc.aster, PA
AUgust 2012

On Wednesday night we made the 3 1/2 hour drive to our friends house in NJ (right outside of N.YC) to spend the night
The next morning we drove to Lanc.aster, PA.  It took us 2 1/2 hours.

It was beyond hot & humid the entire trip.
 Us with our friends

After spending the day at the Adventure Farm we drove to our hotel.  We rented a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom mini suite with our friends.  We put the kids to bed at night and watched the Olym.pics while playing cards & enjoyed a few adult beverages.
We found this adorable fish area on our way to dinner on the second night.  We stopped to feed the ducks.

This is Shane in a restaurant high chair for the first time.  He was very excited to be sitting in his own seat.  We pigged out at an all you can eat buffet.
The land is so beautiful!  Fields & farms everywhere you look.  I felt like I had died and gone to heaven.  I am hoping to frame this picture.  The sky is breathtaking & I love the old white barn, working windmill & the cut field.

Shane slept awesome in the pack n' play.  I enjoyed having him right next to me while I was in bed.
 Our family at Kitc.hen Ket.tle
We took an Amish buggy tour.
The driver asked if Savannah wanted to sit up front with him.  He was the sweetist older Amish man.  He even let her drive!  It was AWESOME!
 Beautiful handmade quilts
We toot a tour of a local pretzel company.  Savannah got to make her own pretzel.
 All the kids!

On our way home the GPS sent us THRU NYC.  It was a long 8 hour drive home but the kids did awesome!
Before we came home we stopped at a Amish farm stand and stocked up on farm fresh organic produce & fruit.  Here is Shane enjoying some cantaloupe the morning after we returned home.

Shane sat up on his own for the first time while we were at our friends house.  This was the first time sitting up at home.  He was so proud of himself!

My little Prince-

I cannot believe you are another month older!  The time really is going by way to fast.  You are now 8 months old and such a little man.  You are so sweet and happy all of the time.  Sissy has started school this month and I think you are really enjoying your Mommy time.  I know I am enjoying my Shanie time!  I have started to plan your Halloween costume (that I am having to craft myself) and you & Sissy's Birthday party!  I am so excited to have you in our family to enjoy the holiday season this year.  We are going to have an awesome time!

Today we:  What better way to celebrate your 8 month birthday than shopping!  We went to the mall then Mill.bury Plaza to poke around.  I got you the most adorable little sports ball ornaments for your Christmas tree.  You, me & Sissy went to lunch together at Long.horn.  Going to a sit down restaurant by myself with two kids (at your nap time) wasn't my best idea ever but we made it work!  You love to grab at everything you can get your little hands on while at the table.  I got you a new pair of sneakers at Str.ide Ri.te and you are now in a size 3 1/2-4 shoe.  You think that shoes are a chew toy.

7 Months

***Sorry-this post should have been up almost 4 weeks ago.  Things have been crazy busy around our house with the end of summer and start of school.

Shanie Boy-
Your 7 months old now!  I still have a very hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that you are so old!  I really don't understand how it happened.  This past month you are grown and experienced more than ever!  You have changed so much!  My heart is as happy and proud as it is sad.  You now eat food, sit up, crawl and have 2 teeth!  How the heck did this all happen so fast???  You are still such a good boy almost all of the time.  You are a very "go with the flow" kind of guy.  You do your best to make things easy for me and I really appreciate it!

Sleep:  Somehow I always forget to mention that you like to be put to bed on your side if you are already sleeping.  It is super cute!  You are usually on your belly when you wake up.  You still sometimes wake up after being in bed for about 45 minutes.  After a quick nurse you are sleeping again.  I know this is a habit we really should break you of but I am not ready to let you cry it out.  You are doing better than last month so I am OK with things.  You have been improving (knock on wood) your naps lately.  You even had 2 days where you slept for 2 3/4 hours!!!

Feed:  This month was a BIG month for you on the food front.  You have tried so many new things!  You eat cereal & fruit for breakfast about 1 hour after your morning boob.  About 1 hour after breakfast I boob you to nap.  You eat a veggie and baby yogurt for lunch.  Boob for afternoon nap.  You will eat cereal & a meat & veggie meal for dinner.  Boob again for a quick nap & then boob for bed.  You still love your boob and moan & groan when you hear the word!  It's adorable!

Other stuff:  We got our laying hens this past weekend.  I am so excited for you to try an egg in a few months.  I am sure you will love them!  Our bunny, Joni, passed away earlier this week.  She will be missed.

Today we:  Went to a meeting with a lawyer to sign paperwork for refinancing our mortgage.  Due to the drop in the interest rate we will be saving about $150.00 a month!  We ate lunch with Daddy at work after the meeting.  Other than this we were home for the rest of the day.  We played with toys and sister.  We are enjoying these last few weeks together before school starts up in 2 weeks.
