Baby Jake & Nursery Furniture

I have a new nephew!!!  Jake Daniel was born his am at 3:48.  He weighted in at 7.3 pounds and is 20 inches long.  Baby & Mommy are doing well!  So excited that he is safe and sounds & healthy.  At his anatomy ultrasounds there was question if his intestines were developing outside of his body and/or he had Down's Syndrome.  As of now, everything if OK.  He looks JUST like his big brother Joe (about to be 2 years old next month!).

Taken today, 15.2 weeks

Today Jay had the day off from work so we decided to run a few errands.  We went to Ho.me Dep.ot to grab some stain to give a face lift to a swing set that one of Jay's clients gave to Savannah.  We then went to Babies.RUS and ordered nursery furniture for the baby's room.  After that we brought Savannah to see her first movie in the theater, Win.nie The Pooh.  It was such a cute movie & we all really enjoyed it.  We then had a quick lunch.  Savannah is napping and Jay is out watering the garden.  It's 100 and humid today.  Ughhhh!  We will be hitting the pool after nap for sure!

15 weeks

How far along:   15 weeks (really creeping up on the half way mark)

Size of Baby:  Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam.

Maternity Clothes:  So I thought I would be all set with the maternity clothes I got from D but I wasn't.  Savannah and I went to the Mall this morning and let's just say I am now set.  I got two pairs of shorts, a pair of jean capri's (not wild over them but I figure they match with any top) & 2 more pairs of capri's (one white and one khaki).  I also got 4 tops, a pair of yoga pants & a pair of yoga shorts.

Weight Gain:  Scale said I was up 2 1/2 pounds from last week.  Yikes!

Stretch Marks:  None

Belly Button:  Getting a tad shallower but still in

Sleep:  Not 100% but far better than it was still.  Last night I slept from 10:30pm-5am and it was AMAZING!

Best Moment of the Week: A friend of mine who has struggled with IF for many many years had her twins at 36 weeks on Monday.  A little boy and a little girl.  Everyone is healthy and doing well-they didn't even have to go to the NICU.  She has another son who will be 4 in September.  During her time TTC to has lost 7 pregnancys and almost lost her first son at delivery.  This girl hasn't had it easy at all.  So I am just over the moon that her family is now complete!!!

Movement:  Not too much this past week.  Booooo!

Symptoms:  Still tired in the evenings and nauseous from time to time.

Food cravings/Aversions:  We finally made it to The OUT.BACK on Friday and I had my wings!!!  That could have something to do with my weight gain ;-)

Gender:  We have out anatomy scan set up for August 16th!!!  We will not learn the sex until our reveal party a few weeks later.

What I Miss:  Feeling great 24/7

Looking forward to:

The pregnant ladies grocery cart

Today I went grocery shopping and I had a very interesting cart!!!  I tend to buys what's on sale and keep stock of the non-perishables that we use.  This week my purchases consisted of pears, plums, grape tomatoes, cantaloupe, strawberries, european cuke, granny smith apples, peaches, bananas, baby carrots, 1 bacon & cheddar stuffed hamburger, 1 portabella & swiss stuffed hamburger, 2 Kay.em hotdogs from the deli, rolls, Chee.to's (the crunchy kind), apple juice, veggie dip, sour cream & yogurt.  I normally buy a lot of produce but not usually THAT much!  Guess what I have been wanting to eat???  Maybe it's natures way of keeping my weight down?  IDK.  Also, I NEVER NEVER EVER buy ground beef from the grocery store.  I only buy local grass fed free range.  I walked past the meat counter and saw the fresh ground pattys of yummyness and I had to get them.  Weird.  VERY weird.  Same with the Chee.to's.  A few weeks ago I was watching the RE.AL WORLD and they were saying how one of the cast members ate Chee.to's morning, noon & night.  They have been my snack of choice ever since.  I buy the HUGE family size bag every week and get so mad at Jay if he eats any!  Oink oink!  That'd be me!

Also, I started my Christmas shopping today.  I ordered Savannah the rest of her luggage set from Pott.ery Ba.rn Ki.ds.  I also received a sale email today from Amer.ican Girl.  I ordered her matching outfits for her Twin's and the dress that goes with it for herself.  She loves dressing like her dolls.  My goal is to have ALL my shopping done by Thanksgiving.  Baby is due 2 weeks after Christmas so I want everything done as early as possible.  I hate stressing at the holidays.  Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year.  Especially since having Savannah!  She gets so excited!!!  I just love it.

14 Weeks

How far along:   14 weeks

Size of Baby:
This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

Maternity Clothes:  I have decided it's time to bring on the maternity bottoms.  I still fit in some of my regular bottoms but they aren't very comfortable.  A friend of mine sold me a few shorts and they are great.  I placed an online order with Old Navy this week & Motherhood Maternity.  I am all set for fall & winter from Savannah's pregnancy.

Weight Gain:  I had my 14 week check up today and I had not gained anything since 4 weeks ago.  She said that is normal and nothing to be concerned with.  I know I will start packing on the pounds soon enough.

Stretch Marks:  None

Belly Button:  Getting a tad shallower but still in

Sleep:  Sleep is getting better.  I sometimes wake to pee but not always.  It;s wonderful sleeping through the night again!

Best Moment of the Week: At my check up today Savannah and I got to hear the heartbeat of the baby.  It was great.  Savannah says "Baby in your belly doing good Mommy?"

Movement:  I thought I have been feeling movement from time to time on my lower left side while resting in bed at night.  I asked today at my appointment if that is possible.  Edna said that with the positioning of my placenta if I were to be feeling movement it would be where I was describing.  So yup!!!  We have movement!!!

Symptoms:  Still tired in the evenings and nauseous from time to time.

Food cravings/Aversions:  I still haven't been back to The Outback so I still want my buffalo wings!!!

Gender:  We have out anatomy scan set up for August 16th!!!  We will not learn the sex until our reveal party a few weeks later.

What I Miss:  I miss feeling like my old self.  But that's about it!

Looking forward to:  We are having a family beach day with Jay's family this Saturday so that will be a blast.  I have a new maternity tankini so I am excited!  I am not into displaying the bump.

13 Weeks!!!

How far along: 13 weeks

Size of Baby:
Baby's now the size of a peach!  2.9 inches, .81ozYour fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords...savor this, their nonfunctional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with his head now only one third the size of his body. And intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy -- much more convenient.

How your baby's growing:

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.
See what your baby looks like this week.
Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.

How your life's changing:

This is the last week of your first trimester, and your risk of miscarriage is now much lower than earlier in pregnancy. Next week marks the beginning of your second trimester, a time of relative comfort for many women who see early pregnancy symptoms such as morning sickness and fatigue subside. More good news: Many couples also notice a distinct libido lift around this time. Birth is still months away, but your breasts may have already started making colostrum, the nutrient-rich fluid that feeds your baby for the first few days after birth, before your milk starts to flow

Maternity Clothes:  Not yet but soon.  Many of my bottoms are too tight so I will be warm weather maternity shopping soon!

Weight Gain:  131.2

Stretch Marks: None

Belly Button:  Getting a little shallow but still in

Sleep:  I have been sleeping better these past few weeks.  I wake 1 or 2 times to pee but usually I am able to fall right back to sleep.

Best Moment of the Week:  We decided to take a family vacation with Jay's grandparents & Savannah to Virginia in September.  It will be so nice to go away with them for a week before they leave for Florida for the winter.  Also, my goddaughter, Kenzie, was born on Monday, June 27th.  She is such a sweetheart!

Symptoms:  I am still very tired and nauseous quite often.  I still have a hard time eating and doing much of anything for too long.  I feel badly but I just am not my usual self.

Food Cravings/Aversions:  I have been dying for boneless buffalo wings from The Outback ever since Jay and I went 2 weeks ago!  We went to dinner (just the two of us) on a Friday night and decided to each get a soup and then a few appetizers to split.  It was such a yummy meal I have been craving it again ever since!

Gender:  7 weeks until we have our anatomy ultrasound and 8 weeks until our gender reveal!!!

What I Miss:  Feeling like myself.  Hopefully since I am sneaking up on the second trimester things will start looking up!
Looking Forward to:  We have our 14 week OB appointment next Wednesday.  As usual, I am looking forward to be sure everything is doing well.  We should also get the exact date of our Ultrasound for next month.
