1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal:

The Fresh Beat Band

Tonight we took Savannah to The Fre.sh Be.at Ba.nd LIVE concert in Boston.  We didn't tell her where we were going.  It was a great surprise.  We had a wonderful time!

We let her pick out a t-shirt & she is very excited to wear t to school on Tuesday.  Too cute!

Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In: 10 Weeks Post-Partum

Starting Weight:  7wk pp: 144#
Last Week's Weight: 139.4#
Current Weight: # 136.8

Down 2.6# from last week-7.2 total (6.8# to go)

1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal:

I'm 5'7" and have a goal weight of 130#, so I have # to go.
I hope to be back into my regular pants for Easter in 3 weeks.

2. Discuss what I am going to do to achieve my goals:

Progress on last week's activities:
Stay within my 32 We.ight Watc.her's points -- 7/7
Drink at least 6-16oz. glasses of water daily -- 7/7
1hr. (3 1/2 miles) on treadmill 3x -- 1.5/3
Yoga 0/1

Yeah so I didn't do so well on the exercise front this past week.  I think I lost my motivation due to last weeks weigh in.  I feel like I am constantly rushing against the clock to do a million things.  This week I put exercise on the back burner.  I am not going to let that happen this coming week.  I don't get how last week I exercised often and I had a small gain.  This week I was a major slacker and I had a great loss.

Activities & goals for this coming week:
Stay within my allotted 32 We.ight Watc.her's daily points
Drink at least 6-16oz. glasses of water daily
Treadmill exercise 3x
Yoga DVD 1x

Dentist

Savannah had her first dentist appointment yesterday.  We have been putting it off for a while because we thought it was going to be pure torture for us her.  Much to our surprise, she was absolutely PERFECT!  In all honesty should could not have been better behaved.  The hygienist, Kim, said she as one of the best kids she has ever seen.  I find that almost comical.  Savannah hates the doctor or anything "medical" that is unknown.  She doesn't even like going for a routine physical (which we have an appointment for next week).  She has 20 healthy teeth & a fancy new tooth brush!  We have been playing "dentist" all night.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I am not Irish so I don't really get into St. Patrick's Day.  However since I now have a child in Pre-School I find myself helping her celebrate.  These pictures were taken Thursday before school.

I am not sure if they were having a little party or not but I sent her all decked out just in case.  And yes, she spilled her lunch on her shirt before we left the house.  Sigh...

My brother is home visiting from NY today so we are going to my parent's tonight for corned beef and cabbage dinner.  Savannah is so excited to see her Uncle Darryl again.  We only see him 1-2 times a year so we are all looking forward to tonight.  This will be his first time meeting Shane.

Easter Basket Drama

A few weeks ago I went online and I ordered Shane's Easter basket.  I had no trouble ordering the liner but the site had discontinued the large brown basket I wanted.  I was a bit upset about this because Savannah has the same brown basket and I wanted them to match.  I ordered the white basket and my plan was to give Shane Savannah's brown basket and Savannah the new white basket.  This wasn't what I wanted but I figured it would be OK.  So I ordered everything and then was told the white basket was on back order until March 26th.  This aggravated me very much because this store sells the same baskets every single year (they have new liners every year) so why the heck did they not buy like a million of them from their supplier???  Anyways, the following day I was stalking the website and noticed they were selling the brown basket again.  I called customer service right away and asked to have my order changed from white to brown.  I was told no problem but the brown was on back order also.  Then about a week later, stalking the site again, I noticed the brown was no longer offered again.  WTF!  So I called customer service for a second time and they said the other rep canceled my white basket but never put in the order for the brown basket.  They told m that they had over 5,000 brown baskets on back order.  They didn't think they were going to be able to fulfill all orders before Easter.  OH.MY.LORD!  I am so neurotic that if Shane doesn't have this basket for Easter I will die!  This is my babies first Easter!  The awesome rep saw that 1 store in California had 3 brown baskets.  She called the store and asked them to mail me one.  I would have hugged and kissed her if I could have.  So thanks to that wonderful lady my son and I will be having the best first Easter!  We are off to the mall to see the Easter Bunny today!

2 Months (a day late)

My dearest Shane-

I cannot believe that today you are two months old!  You are such a little sweetheart!  I call you my little love bugger, my honey bear & Mr. Man.  You aren't the most patient guy when you want something.  You love the boob.  You are the best snuggler.  I love when we are in public and people comment on how cute you are.  I am so excited for your first Easter in a few weeks.  We are going to try and go to church.  I have a meeting with the church next week about your Baptism in July.  Your Godmother is my dear friend Karley and your Godfather (or Godfocker as he calls himself) is your Uncle Dan.  You will learn as you get older that your Uncle Dan is one of the best guys in the world.  He truly is.

Sleep:  You have been sleeping amazingly well the last two weeks!  You have started sleeping about 6-7 hours before you wake for a feeding.  It's great!  You usually go down for the night between 8:30-10 and will sleep until about 4am.  You eat and are then back to sleep for a few more hours.  You wake up all smiles and melt my heart with every.single.one!  You stay awake for a couple of hours before going down for your morning nap.  Sometimes you will sleep for 2-3 hours and other times you only sleep for 20-30 minutes.  You do the same thing in the afternoon.  You ALWAYS fall asleep in the car and often stay asleep in your car seat while I run errands (after dropping Savannah off at school) or come home and exercise.  You are definitely improving in the sleep department which is great!

Feed:  You are still a boob man and I love it!  You have never refused to eat when I offer it to you.  If it is nap time you will fall asleep while eating.  I then try and burp you and rock for for about 10 minutes before putting you to bed.  We gave you pumped breast milk in a bottle this past Sunday.  I am very excited to see how much you weigh at your 2 month check-up in two weeks.

Weight:  1-13: 8lbs 5 oz.
                  1-16: 8lbs 0.04oz.
                  1-19: 8lbs. 4oz.
                  1-26: 8lbs. 7oz.
                  2-16: 10lbs. 11oz.

                  3-13: 13lbs (at home)

Length:  1-13: 21 1/2 inches
                  2-16: 22 inches
                  3-13: 22 1/2 inches (at home)

Diaper Size:  Size 1

Clothes Size:  0-3 Months  The "smaller" 0-3 month clothing that you went into right after newborn size is getting to be too short on you.  You seem to have a long body.  Onsies are starting to pull under your arm pits.  Thankfully we received a big selection of 3-6 month clothing as gifts when you were born so we are all set for a while.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE buying you clothes!  You wore this adorable Carh.artt outfit that Aunt Debbie and Uncle Mike got you when we went grocery shopping this week.  You are such a little man!  Don't mind your sister's hair-we had not fixed it yet.

Hair Color:  Brown

Eye color:  Blue

Funniest moment:  This isn't going to around very mature but it's all I got.  Your farts.  You seriously fart so much!  It's crazy that a person so small could fart so much.  I think it is so funny when you are nursing, you stop eating, look to the side, push out a HUGE fart then start eating again.  I can't help but laugh!  You also love the fart when I am changing your diaper.  Sister thinks this is hillarious.

Milestone:  You have the smile this down pretty good now.  It's adorable!  You are such a cutie pie!  You have started "talking".  You love to tell your stories and we love listening to them.

Firsts:  We went for our first walk outside this past Sunday.  We went with our neighbor's Dave, Audra & Jenson (5 1/2 months).  Hopefully you and Jenson grow up to bed best buddies!

You had your first pumped bottle on Sunday night.  It went well but it broke my heart.  I know it's crazy but I can't help it!

We went the the mall for the first time last week.  DISASTER!  You wanted to eat (and I had just fed you) and sister didn't want to stay with me in the store.  Next time I need to go I am going to wear you and sister will be in the stroller FOR SURE.

You and I went for a walk this week together while sister was in school.  Like usual, you were asleep in the carrier before we were at the end of the driveway.

Check-ups:  You have your check up at the end of the month.  I am bringing you for your 2 month & Savannah for her 4 year at the same time.  ***Wish me luck***

Mommy:  Mommy is doing well.  I finally feel like I am getting the hang of this 2 kiddo thing.  It is much harder to keep the house clean and laundry caught up but we are doing pretty well.  Cooking dinner is hard if you don't want to take an afternoon nap.

Other stuff:  Sister still adores you so much.  She is always asking to hold you.  This week she asked if when she is older she can watch you all by herself.  Ha ha!  Maybe in like 10 years sweetie!  By then she won't want to anymore!

Wei.ght Watc.hers Recipe:
These came out so good that I will probably never buy croutons from the store again.  Plus it's a great way to use up the last few slices of bread.  You can take the croutons and smoosh them up to make homemade breadcrumbs.

Homemade Basic Croutons
Make 16 servings

8 slices day-old bread, cubed
1 tablespoon salt-free seasoning blend
2 teaspoons garlic powder

Pre-heat the oven to 300 degrees.
On a baking sheet, arrange the bread cubes in a single layer, keeping the cubes close together; sprinkle with the seasoning blend and garlic powder.  Bake until golden brown and thoroughly dried, 30-40 minutes.  Store in a zip-close plastic bag for up to 1 week, or freeze in an airtight container for 2-3 months.

Per-serving (6-8 croutons): 42 cal, 1g fat, 0g satfat, 0g trans fat, 8g carb, 77mg sod, 0mg chol, 1g fib, 1g prote, 16mg calc.  Points Value: 1

Monday Funday

Last Monday and today my mother came and picked up Savannah to go play at her house for the day.  My Mom is recently retired so this is a first for us.  Savannah had never been to my parent's house without us before.  She was a little nervous about going last week because my parent's have 2 dogs and Savannah isn't a huge fan of dogs.  Last week Savannah had a great time with her Grammy and my Mom asked to have her back again this week.  Last week I got some much needed cleaning done so it was awesome!  This week I did my Yoga DVD, some housework and Shane & I went for a walk together.  Here are pictures of Shane in his bouncy seat while I took a shower this afternoon.  This was a first for us!

TVT (A day late & a dollar short)

*I have become on old pro at wiping Savannah's butt while feeding Shane.  I make it a point to always apologize to my boy for having to smell s*** during a meal.  Sigh.....

*Wednesday night Shane slept for 7 straight hours and the entire time I ran errands and exercised on Thursday.  Last night he woke up twice and isn't napping today.  Sigh again.....

*The weather forecast is showing A-MAZING weather for this weekend and upcoming week.  Hopefully we can go for a lot of walks!  I am dying for Spring.

*I am super excited to go grocery shopping tonight and fill our cart with only healthy choices!  Go us!

*Speaking of food, I can't stop thinking of all the unhealthy food I want to stuff my face with!  I wonder when our first "cheat" day will be.  Not soon enough!

*My baby boy is going to be two months old (HFS!!!) on Tuesday!  Crazy!  Just crazy!

*If you are the praying type, please pray for Sarah @ Baby Talk, her hubby & darling new baby girl Samantha who was born yesterday at almost 33 weeks.  Poor Sarah has had so much more than her fair share of pregnancy complications but hopefully things will be smooth sailing now.

Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In: 8 Weeks Post-Partum

Starting Weight:  7wk pp: 144#
Last Week's Weight: 144#
Current Weight: 139.2#

Down 4.8# from last week-4.8 total (9.2# to go)
1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal:

I'm 5'7" and have a goal weight of 130#, so I have 9.2# to go.
I hope to be back into my regular pants for Easter in 5 weeks.

2. Discuss what I am going to do to achieve my goals:

Progress on last week's activities:
Stay within my 32 Weight Watcher's points -- 6/6
Drink at least 6-16oz. glasses of water daily -- 6/6
1hr. (3 1/2 miles) on treadmill 3x -- 3.5/3 (go me!)

Activities & goals for this coming week:
Stay within my allotted 32 We.ight Watc.her's daily points
Drink at least 6-16oz. glasses of water daily
Treadmill exercise 3x
Yoga DVD 1x

Other exercise happenings:
*I am so pleased with how this week went!  The only problem I have found is that my milk supply has gone down a little.  Luckily this hasn't affected Shane at all but I want to try and get it back up.  I am purposely nursing him more often than usual since I have a crappy hand pump that only works well when I am overflowing.  I am also starting to drink Mother's Milk Tea today.  Hopefully this helps within a few days.  If not I will increase my points but only eat healthy foods to make up the difference.
*Yesterday Molly @ Stilettos and Diapers posted about how her family makes a Monthly Meal Planing schedule.  I think this is an awesome idea since we are finding ourselves out of meal ideas or missing ingredients.  I will plan our meals and we will go to Trader Joe's 1x monthly and I will go to Big Y weekly to get fresh produce and bread.  I am so excited to do this!  I really think it is going to work wonderfully for us and save us a bunch of time in the long run!
*I ordered myself a new pair of sneakers.  I like to have a pair of sneakers that I wear only for exercise.  I love the look of these shoes-I always have to have pink on my sneakers.  I just hope they are comfortable!

*I am pleased to report that Jay has done awesome for his first week of P9.0X.  He has worked out everyday not missing a workout.  I could never make the time to exercise for sometimes over an hour 6 days a week!  He has also hasn't gone off of his lean protein, whole gain & no sugar (other than fruit) diet.  We are bringing our sexy back baby!

Savannah's Birthday Weekend

Savannah had a wonderful 4th Birthday weekend!

On her actual Birthday (Friday the 24th) we did some shopping and had lunch at the Amer.ican Gi.rl Sto.re & Bistro.  What a fabulous time we had!

The evening of her birthday we had my parents, in-law's, my brother in-law & his girlfriend over for cake, ice cream & presents.  Savannah specifically asked for a pink & purple He.llo Kit.ty cake.  She is a chip off the ol'e block i'll tell ya!

The day after (Saturday) her birthday my in-law's took Savannah shopping to pick out a "big girl" bicycle!

On Sunday we rented a hall and had all of our friends & family for her "big" party.

On Tuesday Savannah brought cupcakes in to share with her pre-school class!  How cute are these!

TVT

This will be my first time participating in TVT.  It seems to make perfect sense to do TVT seeing that I don't have much time to blog lately & I am brain dead.

-Today is We.ight Watc her's Day 1 and I am freaking starving!  Is it lunch time yet???

-I need to make keeping up with my housework more of a priority.  I am such a freak I think I am going to make a cleaning schedule to be sure everything is getting done.

-My boy is almost smiling & shit is he handsome!

-I have my postpartum check up tomorrow afternoon.  Yay for pap smears!

-It has been snowing since last night and still going strong.  This is only our second real snow since that killer storm we had in October.  I am happy school was cancelled today.  I love being snowed in with my kiddos!

-I ordered Shane's Easter basket yesterday.  It's currently on back order and it had better be in by Easter or I am going to be pissed!  Why would a company have back ordered seasonal items???  Makes no sense!  Especially an item that they carry every freaking year.

-After reading an article in Kiwi magazine last week, I have started Savannah on Elderberry Syrup daily.  It is supposed to help to keep sickness away.  She has had 3 head cold this fall & winter thanks to the germ factory preschool.

-Shane just pooped (what else is new) so I gotta bounce.
