It's a......

All of our friends and family are line up as we cute the cake

I love the look on Savannah's face!  Priceless!

It's a BOY!!!

We are over the moon with excitement!  Ideally we wanted a boy but we knew we would have loved another girl also.  I am just so happy that Jay will have a son.  Savannah wasn't too happy about this since she really wanted a sister (so she thought).  As soon as I told her she wouldn't need to share her princess dresses and high heels she was VERY happy to be expecting a little brother.  My dear friend and I are going shopping tonight with our girls to pick out a few BABY BOY outfits.  I am so very excited!  Now we just need to agree on names!  Jay and I have very different taste.  As of now my top choices are Bentley, Easton, Sutton & Shane.

Feeling so good! Finally!

Oh my gosh I am feeling so good!  I am not exactly sure how it is possible since I can't sleep at night.  But I will take this for as long as I can.  I can't stop cleaning everything in our house!  I LOVE cleaning normally anyways but I have been feeling like such poo the last few months I have been letting it all go.  Maybe that's why I feel so good!

19 Weeks

Well our ultrasound went well.  The technician (who I love) was able to do all of the needed measurements and pictures for the doctor.  We were told that baby is developing as he/she should and everything looks great.  I have gained a total of 7 pounds and will go back for my next appointment in 4 weeks.  Our envelope is in the mail to a family friend who will be baking our cake.  So excited!  10 more days!!!

BIG Day

So today is kinda a big day for us.  We are going to get to see out little love this afternoon!  I am just so incredibly excited!  I gave Savannah the option of going to someones house or coming with us.  She decided she wanted to come with us so she could see the baby on the "tv".  Hopefully she will behave well and not get too squirmy sitting through the ultrasound and then a doctors appointment.  I just want to be told that our love is growing well and look healthy.  I am kinda freaking out knowing that we COULD know the sex today but are holding out another 11 days.  It will be so fun to find out with all of our family & friends.

After our appointments (weather permitting) we will be heading over to the furniture store to pick up the crib & dresser.  Hopefully I can convince Jay to set up the crib tonight.  While we are out we will also bring our little pre-schooler to pick out a few new outfits.  Her first day of her second year of pre-school is only 2 weeks away!  OMG!  Summer is just about over.  Booooooo!

18 Weeks

How far along: 18 weeks

Size of Baby:
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

Maternity Clothes:  All maternity bottoms (and undies-ahhhh so comfortable) but still no maternity tops.  I am looking forward to needing them since I have about 5 new ones hanging in my closet.

Weight Gain:  I am the same this week as last week.  135.8 (up 6.8 total) We went walking between 2-4 miles 5 days last week.  The weather was great and Savannah loves the fact that the jogger has an IP.OD hookup.

Stretch Marks:  None

Belly Button:  Spreading out slowly

Sleep:  Sleep has been pretty good since I have been using the 2 "body" pillows.  I usually only wake 1x around 3am to pee and then I am back to sleep.  I do love a fan & breeze on my face while sleeping.

Best Moment of the Week:  I have started to feel Baby more often and for longer periods of time.  I used to only feel baby at rest while in bed but now I feel him/her during the day while sitting or being still.

Movement:  See above

Symptoms:  Same as previous weeks only fewer in between (thank goodness).  I feel pretty well during the day but am so tired in the afternoon & evening.

Food cravings/Aversions:  I have been craving spicy things.  Weird for me.  I want buffalo wings and chimichangas.  I will have to request my favorite Mexican restaurant for my Birthday next month!

Gender:  Our u/s is in 6 days but our reveal party isn't for 16 days.  Savannah and I went to the party store last week and picked up some pink and blue decorations.  I placed the order today for the balloons.  I am getting VERY excited!  I also ordered Savannah her "BIG SISTER" t-shirt for the party.  She choose to wear a pink bottom so I found her a really cute pink tutu.  She is going to love it!!!

What I miss:  Not too much this past week.  If I had to choose something I would say that I miss sleeping through the night.

Looking Forward to:  I am looking forward to a long weekend away (leaving tomorrow) to O.ld Orch.ard Bea.ch in Ma.ine and then our ultrasound on Tuesday.

Weekly Wisdom:

Milestones:  18 Weeks & more movement

Dreams:  Still nothing

Other happenings:

Baby's furniture is in and it will be delivered next week after we return from our weekend away.  We went with Bassett Baby's Chatham Collection.  Savannah's set is also Bassett Baby and we have been so happy with it.  The style is a bit more formal than I usually like but I just LOVE it!  Hopefully Baby does too!

17 Weeks OMG!

How far along:  17 weeks!!!

Size of Baby:  Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

Maternity Clothes:  All maternity bottoms but still all normal tops.  I am excited to sometime soon need my maternity tops but they are all still rather big as of now.

Weight Gain:  A little over 5 pounds total

Stretch Marks:  None

Belly Button:  Getting shallower and shallower.  I am sure Edna will advise me to remove my ring at my next appointment (2 weeks from today).

Sleep:   Sleep was AWFUL last week.  It would take forever to fall asleep and then I would wake up 3-4 times during the night due to being in an uncomfortable position.  I decided I needed to try something different.  I have two spare (very full) down pillows.  I place one on each side of me like a body pillow.  This allows me to sort of sleep on my side/belly but mostly on the pillow.  It is VERY comfortable.  I take the other pillow and I shove it behind my back.  I have been sleeping awesome ever since!!!  I am sure this is only temporary.

Best Moment of the Week:  On Sunday the three of us went to brunch together.  We had a wonderful time.  Tomorrow night Jay and I are going to get Mexican just the two of us.  Ahhhhhhh!  A nice relaxing meal!

Movement:  A few night this week I have felt a few flutters/swooshings at bedtime.  I <3 it!

Symptoms:  Headaches & Fatigue

Food cravings/Aversions:  Neither the past couple of weeks.  I eat and get full quickly but and then STARVING soon after!

Gender:  13 days till our scan & 24 days till the big reveal.  I am getting sooooo excited!

What I Miss:  I miss being able to hold my bladder for long periods of time.  I am saying this with 100% seriousness.

Looking forward to:  Seeing the baby in 2 weeks at the U/S and celebrating our baby with our family on the 27th.

Weekly Wisdom:

Milestones:  17 weeks!

Dreams:  None

Baby Jake & Nursery Furniture

I have a new nephew!!!  Jake Daniel was born his am at 3:48.  He weighted in at 7.3 pounds and is 20 inches long.  Baby & Mommy are doing well!  So excited that he is safe and sounds & healthy.  At his anatomy ultrasounds there was question if his intestines were developing outside of his body and/or he had Down's Syndrome.  As of now, everything if OK.  He looks JUST like his big brother Joe (about to be 2 years old next month!).

Taken today, 15.2 weeks

Today Jay had the day off from work so we decided to run a few errands.  We went to Ho.me Dep.ot to grab some stain to give a face lift to a swing set that one of Jay's clients gave to Savannah.  We then went to Babies.RUS and ordered nursery furniture for the baby's room.  After that we brought Savannah to see her first movie in the theater, Win.nie The Pooh.  It was such a cute movie & we all really enjoyed it.  We then had a quick lunch.  Savannah is napping and Jay is out watering the garden.  It's 100 and humid today.  Ughhhh!  We will be hitting the pool after nap for sure!
