TVT
*As usual, all my brain is only capable of a TVT post.
*My little prince will be turning 6 months tomorrow. I can't even begin wrap my heard around that! After tomorrow, he will be closer to his first birthday than the day he was born. No words.
*6 months means CEREAL! I am very excited to have Shane try cereal. I have the camera and video all ready to go.
*Sunday Shane is being Baptised. I have been busy all week getting the house ready for the after party. He will be wearing an antique baby romper from the 1930's that my Mom picked up at an Antique Show many many years ago. I was looking for a very specific romper (white boys romper with baby blue details) and couldn't find what I was looking for at what I felt was a reasonable price. Then I saw this romper on display at my parents house a few months ago. It is absolutely perfect & exactly what I wanted. My Mom is giving it to me as a keepsake.
*Summer is going well. I was kinda scared because Savannah's behavior isn't always the best. For the most part I would say things are slightly improved. She will be back to school in no time.
*We are going on vacation in 2 weeks with friends to Lancaster PA. We are so excited! The 6ish hour drive scares the crap out of me but I am trying to not think about it.

Baby's First Sickness
On Tuesday morning Shane woke with with a puffy, red & teary left eye. I wasn't sure if maybe he scratched or poked himself over night. I watched him for a few hours and he was acting rather cranky. I called the doctor and made him an appointment for that afternoon. My plan was to see how he was for the day and hopefully he would improve and I could cancel the appointment. Needless to say after he took a 2 hour nap I knew he was sick. We went to the appointment and the doctor confirmed he had the very beginning of an eye infection/conjunctivitis. He was put on a oral antibiotic for 10 days and an eye ointment to be applied 3x daily for 5 days. He started to improve immediately and has basically been fine ever since. Poor kid hates his medications but takes them like a champ! I have no idea how he got this. I am happy I brought him in Tuesday because we probally would have ended up in the ER on Wednesday since the office was closed for the holiday.
I was sick myself from Friday until Monday. Jay had to stay home Friday-Sunday to take care of the kids. Yeah....I was that sick!

5 Months
***Sorry that this post is almost 2 weeks late. Bad Mommy! Some things have changed since this post was written but this is what he was up to at 5 months.***
My boy,
I know I say this every month but I just can't believe how fast you are growing. In just a few short weeks you will be starting on cereal and veggies soon after. It is almost time to pack up your bottles and introduce you to a sippy cup. You only have a bottle every month or so and you always take it like a champ. I think you have had 4 in your whole life! You get so excited when I ask you if you want "boobie". It is adorable. You moan and groan and make the cutest little face. Normally I would have thought that phrase was a little TMI but you are so stinking cute. Two weeks ago I cooked & froze 5 pounds of organic carrots and last week I made you organic sweet potatoes. I ordered some new ice cube trays so that your food will stack better in the freezer. Grammy is letting me borrow her huge food processor so that I don't have to buy one. Thanks Garmmy!!!
You are rolling all over the place now. You go from back to belly and belly to back. When you are on your belly you pull up on your knees as if you are trying to crawl. You are always on your belly now when I get you up in the morning now. I don't like this but I know there really isn't anything I can do about it. You still fall forward when you practice sitting up on you bum. We try and work on this daily with you.
Sleep: You are again sleeping all night. You usually have your last feeding at 8:30pm and fall asleep. You still often wake after being in your bed for about 10 minutes to burp. You are a gassy little guy! You will burp and often go back to sleep on your own immediately. I don't think you are fully awake. Sometime you need the magic boob to go back to sleep.
Feed: Same as last month

Milestone:
*You are consistently sleeping all night now. You had a week when you work up every night about 3 weeks ago but have been back to sleeping all night the past 3ish weeks. It's awesome!
*You have officially found your thumb. Daddy is constantly pulling it out of your mouth but I just let you suck. Your don't like the papi so if you are going to be a thumb sucker it's OK with me. I will try and work on Daddy for you.
Firsts:
*5/26- Rolled from back to belly:I layed you down on the living room carpet to change your diaper. You were trying to latch onto the carpet and rolled yourself right over! My big boy!
*5/28- First Memorial Day & first parade
*6/4-Rolled from belly to back then barrel rolled across the living room floor!
Check-ups: 5/24 You did awesome at your check up. Doctor M said I could start you on cereal then if I wanted to because of your growth and head control but she agreed it would be best if we waited until 6 months. She said you were developing great and that you looked perfect!
Other stuff:
*Savannah's last day of school is on Tuesday. She will have her end of the year concert Monday night. I am sure it will be adorable!
*You LOVE to watch your big sister. She puts on dance shows for you, reads you books & plays doctor with you. You are such a good sport and let her do whatever she wants.
Today we: Sissy went with Grammy today so we got to spend most of today together just the two of us. You went to Memere Jean's for an hour while I went for a pedi with Memere Pam. Can you believe this was her first pedi!?!?!

My Boy
I am am in a state of shock and disbelief about a few new things my boy has been up to. Wednesday night we decided to attempt putting Shane to sleep without his swaddle. It went great! He slept all night and actually didn't get up until about 9 the next morning! Awesome! Then on Thursday night he was REALLY sucking his finger so Jay gave him the papi. We couldn't believe that he actually took it! He hasn't wanted to let it go ever since. Let me just remind you that this is the same boy that would suck the papi for a few minutes and then spit it out and gag on it. Now he loves it! Yesterday afternoon I was nursed him to sleep but he woke up when I transferred him to his crib. I gave him the papi and he started sucking away. He was bright eyed so I thought there was no way he was going to fall asleep again but I really had to go pee. I turned on his crib toy and by the time I came back he was ASLEEP! I seriously couldn't believe it! He went to bed last night and nap today the same way! Go Shanie boy!

TVT
-School is out for the summer! Last day was Tuesday so we went to dinner & got ice cream to celebrate. I have no idea how I am going to do my grocery shopping with 2 kids.
-We are having a humid spell in Central MA. It's like 90+ outside with awful humidity. Thankfully we have central air but we don't run it on high in fear of a brankruptingly (is that even a word-prob not) high electric bill. Looks like we will be spending some time tonight at my in law's pool. It's so hot out we had to bring the chicks into the cellar. They were over heating in the coop.
-I suck at blogging and am now over a week late with Shane's 5 month post. I have been so busy with my 100 Day Challenge it doesn't leave much extra time for blogging. I may add blogging as one of my tasks. The Challenge is going AWESOME and I love it so much!
-My dear cousin got engaged two weeks ago and asked me to be a bridesmaid this week! I am so excited! I have never been a bridesmaid before. This is going to be awesome! They haven't set a date yet but it is looking like May 2013.
-My sweet little goddaughter's first birthday party is on Saturday! I am so excited to spoil her with her Bitty Baby. Savannah has close to 1 million toys and Bitty has been one of her favorites since she received her for her first Christmas. I HIGHLY recommend her for any little princess.
-I seriously freakin' L-O-V-E summer. Tank tops, shorts and flip flops are the only way to be. I wish it was 75 and sunny 365 days a year. I am such a happy person in the summer.

Catch Up
Because I stink at blogging, I am going to do a catch up post. A few new things have happened over the past few weeks that I am excited to blog about!
-My prince is rolling! He rolled from back to front for the first time on 5/26 and on 6/4 he rolled from belly to back. I watched him go from belly to back for the first time and then he just barrel rolled across most of the living room floor! I seriously couldn't believe my eyes! I kinda have a feeling we are in for it with this little dude.
-A week and a half ago I got a NEW car & I absolutely L-O-V-E it! With a heavy heart I traded in my Mer.cury Mount.aineer for a Fo.rd Ed.ge Lim.ited. The trunk has proven to be quite a bit smaller than my Mount.aineer but we will manage. We were planning on taking my new wheels on vacation to PA in August but we have decided there is no way we can so we will take Jay's truck. The Ed.ge has something called My Fo.rd Tou.ch which is a crazy confusing computer for the radio, blue tooth & just about everything else electronic or technical. I am still trying to figure the thing out. It has a back up camera which is awesome! Driving in reverse was never one of my strong points ;-) I had my Mount.aineer for 6 years and I loved it so much. I can only hope that in another 6 years I love my Edge as much!

Out with the old
In with the new
-We got our chickens last Thursday. They were all so tiny and cute at only 1 day old! Savannah was totally obsessed with them for the first few days. She constantly wanted to watch them and hold them. Let me tell you all those little suckers do is eat, drink & poop. For real! They are now starting to grow feathers on their wings. As soon as they are all feathers we will be moving them out of the garage and into the coop. In the mean time we will have to deal with our garage smelling like total crap. It's disgusting! In about 7-8 weeks these suckers will be in or freezer.
-Our new wood shed it now about half way to completion. All that is missing is the metal roof & rough sawn pine siding. As soon as it is done Jay will move all of the wood into it and we can prep our area for a raspberry & blueberry patch. Our veggie garden & my herb garden (more on this later) are planted.
And because he is just soooooooo cute!

The Great 100 Day Challenge
As Carlia @ Nest Building 101 said, a lot can happen in 100 days.
I have decided to join in on The Great 100 Day Challenge fun. I had a hard time coming up with a challenge & I think my selection is sorta lame but it was the best I could do. I am going to do at least 3 house cleaning chores/tasks a day for 100 days (not including dishes-because I do dishes at least 4x daily already). This will include but is not limited to laundry, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, washing floors & dusting. I have a cleaning list that is about a bazillion pages long so I will never have a shortage of chores/tasks. My challenge is going to be finding the time BUT I can do this! At least I hope I can. Ha ha!
My challenge will last longer than 100 days because I am going to add any days that I am away from home on vacation to the end of the list.
To check my progress, click here.
You should do this with me! Your challenge can be anything that you would like. Fiona is going to not use the Internet while her daughter is awake or in her care (I couldn't do that for even 1 day!) and Josey is going to do something active daily. I am interested to see how others will decide to challenge themselves. Click here to join in!
